Hi there!

 

I'm Ellie! Welcome to Solo Travel Soul- a blog written by a solo traveller for solo travellers!

I started this blog site not only out of my passion for travel but also because I was once held back from travelling for so many years because I never thought I could do it on my own. I am 36 years old now (going on 25 inside my head) and it was not until I was 35 that I took the gigantic leap, quit my long term, permanent job in London and booked a one way flight to Brazil. I'd never done anything like it before and was full of nerves.

 

However, it wasn't long before I started to love it and realised it was one of the best decisions of my life! What I had initially planned as a 3 month trip soon became 7 months travelling solo across 8 of the 12 countries in South America. Going it alone was really quite different to what I expected- in fact I was rarely alone, and cliche as it sounds, I was living my best life. The people I met along the way have been the best bit of all!

 

I wish I had known a little bit about what to expect before, as maybe I would have done it sooner! So, if I can share my solo experiences, advice, travel tips and inspiration from my journey and if it inspires even just one other person to do it, then it will all be for an extremely good cause!
